FC 24 has more changes compared to previous versions, but there are still ways that you can get ahead of the pack in the game.
Pick The Perfect Formation
There is an array of formations, but we would suggest using the best formation 4-4-2 in FC 24, offering the perfect balance between defensive and attacking phases, and giving you an outlet in all areas on the pitch. Also, this formation is especially strong with the current defensive meta, as you will always have at least two players to choose from and rarely feel like your team is outnumbered in any part of the pitch.
This formation is especially strong with the current 71-depth meta, as it means that your team has three separate defensive blocks that the opposition needs to move through. You have found that the strikers and wide midfielders are excellent at aggressively pressing the defensive line while still having the time to drop back into the midfield and defense, too.
Knowing Player Switching Works
Player Switching is the secret to good defending. It is extremely frustrating when you're trying to switch to a specific player to control but the game won't let you. Not only does it waste countless valuable seconds, it brings your players out of position which ruins your team's structure. Worry not as we've got some solutions to this specific problem.
There was a feature in FC 24 called "Adaptive Right Stick Switching": this setting can be found in the controller settings and allows you to hold the right analog stick for longer to choose a player further away. If you struggle with right stick switching, this may help because you can also see a visual reference on where you are aiming your right stick, so you know who exactly you are switching to when you are practicing.
Pace Is Incredibly Important
Pace is one the most pivotal factors in FC 24, especially since the Running Jockey was nerfed last year – so now opposition attackers are even more dangerous when running in behind for a through ball.
Furthermore, some specific players on New Generation (New-Gen) consoles have new acceleration types, there are three categories: controlled, lengthy and explosive. Explosive gets an initial acceleration boost, lengthy acquires more acceleration in longer distances and control is just a generic acceleration type. Effectively Improve Attack
To effectively attack in FC 24, you need to know your players' strengths and how to use them to your advantage. Each player has their own attributes that determine their performance on the field, such as pace, shooting, passing, and dribbling. It would help if you played to their strengths to get the most out of your players. Look to get them in positions where they can take shots on goal.
Skill moves are an essential part of attacking in FC 24. They allow you to beat defenders and create space for your players to make runs or take shots on goal. There are many Skill Moves to choose from, from basic moves like the fake shot and the heel-to-heel flick to more advanced moves like the ball roll fake and the elastico. In addition to skill moves, there are other useful buttons that help you attack. L1/LB is used for calling a teammate to come closer to you and create space, while R1/RB is used for making a run. Combining these two buttons can create some great attacking opportunities.
Master The Dribbling
Dribbling has always been incredibly important when playing FC 24 and mastering it makes games much easier as it can help you out of tight spaces or wriggle past opposition defenders with ease. All you have to press whilst running with the ball is R1/RB, and your player will glide across the pitch and be so agile when moving even the slightest bit, making it incredibly easy to run past defenders.
More skill moves may also be necessary for successful dribbling. Get to know all of the talents and get your fingers used to using them. Remember that the skill movements are classified based on the players' star moves. Last, the player with the higher dribbling attribute will dribble better. Try to have at least two players with a high dribbling rate on your team if you are playing Ultimate Team.
Use The Every Cross Wisely
Crossing is an essential technique in soccer where players chip the ball inside the box for teammates to steer it into the goal. In FC 24, there are various types of crosses that you can perform with players, and this mechanic allows you to create more chances on goals. Essentially, your wingers explore down the flanks, skipping past the wide defenders to put a well-timed ball in the box, which is converted into a goal through headers, volleys, and simple tap-ins.
Mastering all the different forms of crossing in FC 24 empowers players to navigate through the opponent's defense with pace and precision. Using Power Shots
A power shot is one option that FC 24 has at their disposal to blow the football past the opposition. This is a booming kick that can come with a great deal of speed at the cost of some touch an accuracy, is a great option for those who need to get a shot on from outside the box or just want to blow one by the goaltender.
It's simple to perform, too: hit L1 + R1 + Shoot / LB + RB + Shoot. The difference here is that you must manually aim your shot with the Left Analog Stick. Power shots can be pulled off with any player in FC 24, but the accuracy will be much higher if you use an attacker or midfielder with high shooting stats, such as Erling Haaland has a 93 Shooting Stat.
